| Update on library move dates
For all of those who have been asking and who are generously volunteering to help us with the move to
the new library, our dates are firming up. We will be open all of January and February at the old library.
The last day that the library will be open at the old location will be February 27th. This will be the last
day to turn in books, make donations, and use the old facility. There will be no library available from
February 28th until March 23rd, when the doors of the new library will open to the Placitas community.
We are very excited that it is almost here.

PLACITAS
Please click here to find
all the information about Picture
Placitas.
We are happy to announce that the final submission date for the Picture Placitas program has being
extended until January 31, 2010. We have received many wonderful entries, and we are looking forward
to what others will submit. Please submit your view of Picture Placitas.

LOCAL
AUTHORS
As the PCL looks toward moving into the new space, hopefully, next
fall, we would like to gather names
and titles of all our local authors. Please
contact the Library, 867-3355, and leave your name and number,
or
that of local authors you know, for Joan Jander.

Public
Use Computers
At
the Placitas Community Library, we have three public use computers
for our patrons. They provide
access to the Internet
and to many special public access sites made available through the
New Mexico
State Library Network. There is
no fee for using these systems and there is a small fee for printing
documents from these systems.
Our Mission
The
Placitas Community Library seeks to become an essential part of
the life of our residents by promoting
an enriched, informed, and
connected community. We provide and promote open and equal access
to OUR
resources and services in order
to meet the informational, educational and cultural needs of our
diverse
community in a welcoming, convenient and responsive manner.
Our motto is, "Una Placita Para Todos -- A Place for Everyone."
The Placitas Community Library is a grassroots effort to
establish a permanent library in Placitas and
encourages a true
community effort by bringing residents together to participate in
establishing the library.
We believe that our library is an essential
building block in developing a sense of community pride and spirit.
Our volunteer effort invigorates and moves people in this common
goal of community building.
The library DID have one paid employee....Bonnie the cat. With our upcoming move getting near, just before
Christmas, Bonnie moved into a new permanent home with a family that already loves her. She was a
wonderful library cat!
