The Placitas Library Flea Market will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays May through October of each month in the fields west of the Merc from 7 AM to 4 PM. For more information, click here.

October Art Exhibit - STILL HERE, THEN AND NOW: WOMEN ARTISTS OF PLACITAS 1940 to 1970 -featuring 15 of the pioneering female artists of the community: painters, sculptors, glass-crafters, photographers, and mixed-media artists. ATTEMPT on MAKALU - Bill Dunmire will give a slide program recounting his 1954 climbing expedition attempt to scale Makalu, the world's fifth highest mountain. His was the first American climbing expedition to the Himalayas. Saturday, October 18, at 2:00 PM. For the flier, click here.

Placitas Star Party -- Saturday, October 18 beginning at dusk twenty or more telescopes of various types and sizes will be on hand to guide you to the wonders of the night sky. For the flier, click here.

Africa Adorned - every bead tells a story by jewelry design artist Geri Verble - Geri will take you on a bead journey to Africa where you will learn about African trade bead history and beading making.
